Buttermilk Cheddar Bacon Bread

2 ¼ cups flour
¼ cup sugar
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1 cup buttermilk
¼ cup butter, melted
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
¼ cup chopped fresh chives

Preheat oven to 350. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and baking soda in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk egg, buttermilk and butter until blended. Add to flour mixture along with bacon, cheese and chives; stir just until moistened. Spoon into a sprayed 8x4” loaf pan. Bake 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes, then remove to wire rack to cool completely.
