½ cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¾ cup flour, divided
6 tablespoons cold butter, divided
5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 refrigerated pie crust
6 cups sliced peeled Golden Delicious apples
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons bourbon
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 400. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon and ½ cup flour in a medium bowl. Cut in 4 tablespoons butter with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in bacon and set aside.
Place pie crust in 9” pie plate. Place apples in a large bowl; add granulated sugar, remaining flour, bourbon and vanilla; mix lightly and spoon into crust. Cut remaining butter into small pieces and place evenly over apples. Cover with crumb topping. Place on baking sheet. Bake 30 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 350 and baked an additional 30 minutes.
