Pretzel Bark

1 cup chopped pretzels

1/3 cup chopped toasted pecans

1 ½ pkg. (8 square each) semi-sweet chocolate, melted

Stir pretzels and nuts into melted chocolate. Spread on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Refrigerate one hour or until firm. Break into pieces

Bacon Water Chestnuts

Bacon Water Chestnuts

12 slices Oscar Mayer fully cooked bacon, cut in half crosswise
8 oz can whole water chestnuts, drained
½ cup Miracle Whip
½ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup chili sauce

Preheat oven to 350. Wrap bacon pieces around water chestnuts (one-half slice bacon per water chestnut) and secure with toothpicks. Place in shallow baking dish. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over water chestnuts. Bake 30 minutes

1 large can pumpkin (3 cups)

4 eggs

1 ½ cup sugar

3 1/3 cups evaporated milk (2 cans)

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 ½ teaspoons nutmeg

½ teaspoon cloves

1 ½ teaspoons allspice

¼ teaspoon mace

¼ teaspoon ginger



Preheat oven to 425. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and pour into two 9” pie shells. Bake 15 minutes at 425, then reduce heat to 350 and bake an additional 45 minutes.

Holiday Fruit Bars

¾ cup shortening
1 ½ cup sugar
1 cup dark raisins
1 cup golden raisins
1 cup applesauce
1 ½ cup water
1 cup candied fruit
1 cup chopped dates
1 teaspoon each cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves
1 ½ teaspoon soda
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups flour
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375. Cook shortening, sugar, raisins, applesauce, water, fruit, dates and spices until slowly boiling, stirring often. Remove from heat; cool to warm and stir in soda. Add remaining ingredients and stir until smooth. Spread in greased 17 x 11 pan. Bake 30-35 minutes. Cool, frost, and cut – lemon glaze is especially good on this.
